Reasons to celebrate...

And i have a reason to celebrate...

I can now proudly proclaim that my legs had returned to normal ...after a 5 month long struggle.

And so can now jump, run and walk to my heart's desire.......

I did have a fear whether i would limp for life...

But then as luck would have it, the accident had set off a series of chain reactions and i had been for the best in my life.I loved the bumpy ride it had brought me to...

Things are much better now..

..with a work i really love doing ,and have a wonderful team

..the fact that i do see the evening sun(The previous assignment ensured that i stayed on late)

...with mom and dad coming to pick me from work.It is a 3 minute walk since the back doors of the campus are open .I am remembering the good old school days when things used to be the same.I am blessed in a way to see mom and dad at the office gates everyday ready to escort me the way back...it is more or less a evening walk for them...

..the joy that i had met my brother after an year(Whereas mom and dad haven't seen him since october last makes me all the more merrier...a little wicked perhaps!!!)

..the fact that i have the weekends all to myself .Had been on a quite a small trip to the Guindy National park,Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram.Found time to take mom and dad only now after a year..They had visited places on their own without me some time back...

...and we had bought a new fridge too...a bright red...red being my favourite

There are quite a few regrets too...but have shelved it to make merry

:-)

Tenses all messed up..

I can't write in the past tense!!!

Why is that so???

Have been pondering on the question for quite some time now...

On anything i write, even though it would have happened quite some time ago,i just don't use the past tense of the action at all..

Am all comfortable writing as if it is happening straight way....

Hoping to break it soon!!

Boxes red and blue....

You have dropped a cheque ,have you???

Yes ,i had

I was supposed to pay back to a colleague whose amex card i had used to book tickets for my overseas travel.I had applied for a card only when the travel plan got finalized.

Checking with the customer care showed the cheque's status as "unused".

So where did it go..was thinking all morning and couldn't really figure out where it had gone...
it hadn't returned to me too..

And when i had gone to drop another one ,the big red "bill payment box" stared at me..

I stared further to realize my folly!!!

It says 'Vodafone bill payment drop box" in bright red.

oh...me!!!!!!!!!

And this time i was smart enough to ask where the amex payment box was....

It was there all the while,a small blue box kept as if hidden just behind the people at the reception.....

The facts that it is kept behind the reception desk, painted blue and also the fact that i hadn't looked out for signs made all the difference!!!

So shylu.......look out for the signs!!

Overwhelmed with hospitality!!

It was 11.30 and i could see my brother on the other side of the road as well as the bus on its way.He had run a 100 metre dash and had stopped the bus while i was trying hard to reach the bus.

We were supposed to go to su's house that weekend and i was supposed to plan the events.Right from buying sweets for the kid to looking into the schedule of trains from Journal Square to Penn and from Penn to MetroPark. But then i had been very negligent and had thought it was just a joke when he had asked me to plan.

On weekends we had to walk quite a distance for the NJ transit.Me being a poor planner had done nothing and the question arised when we almost reached the bus stop.

U have her address ..don't u??

(Me thinking it was another joke of his)

What??? I have given her number to u yesterday asking you to save it in your phone..

I had passed the phone straight away, didn't i???

???

It so happened that i didn't have the phone number or the address of my host and we were near the bus stop!!!

After a stern look, off he went to fetch the number...

Little did he know that i had placed it under my Thinkpad to prevent it from flying away and i had no phone to inform him and he in a hurry hadn't taken the keys to the room!!!

It seems that he got keys from the reception and searched for the paper lots before he got it!!!

I bore the brunt of poor planning for the entire day!!

Bonk..bonk..bonk...went the horn a couple of times from the impatient lady driver of the bus.It seems that she had wanted me to come along fast and had wanted to know why i was limping???

Once into the bus a look from my brother said it all..see what very poor planning can do???

And we did broke into a laugh..... though i am still criticized for not looking into the schedules of trains to the Penn and to Metropark from there on.

It was worth buying the sweets from "Raj bhog" because Teja loved the jelabis. She loved them a lot and just couldn't stop eating. We had a "Dishyum dishyum" on the premises of "Raj Bhog " too on the fact that i hadn't collected details on what Teja loved to eat. :-)

I hate swiping the metro card...it just would give a "No go" however hard i try!!!
I had to swipe at least a couple of times for it to work... :-(
My metro card wasn't working as usual while my "udan pirappu" was already into the station and looking over me at a distance sipping hot coffee.Had a hard time getting in.

From then i was asked to look for signs and decide which exit we should take to get in and out.
The day was progressing very badly,i should say.Till now had basked in the glory of well prepared plans and it was now i realized how poor a planner i was!!!

The 1 1/2 hrs ride from the penn station to Metropark was too good and when we reached, we had su drive us home.It seems that su had been telling all stories about me to her little princess and she was expecting me to be in any moment.

That was very evident when su went upstairs and told the kiddo who was waiting at the door that "Shylaja aunty" hasn't come.I was in hiding and was surprised at the expression the kiddo gave..oh..my sweety... i love u!!! :-)

She was all into gurgles on seeing us both and showed her tremendous love by taking me into her room which is only for a privileged few,it seems!! She brought out her toys one by one and started explaining .I am no game for play, but then she got good company with brother joining her for play. She blended with him so quickly thinking that it was her "Ramu chitappa, who su later on explained resembled my brother.

Su and myself had been roommates at a boarding school for a year. And we had absolutely no contact all these years and we had met again through a social networking site some time back.I was wondering by the way the human mind holds love even years after. We knew each other for just over a year and i hadn't expected much from su.But i should say that i was overwhelmed by the love ,affection and hospitality she showered on me!!

Moreover her kiddo killed me with her love.We were driving to a "Guruvayurappan" temple when the little darling wanted me to come back and sit beside her...She wanted me and my brother to sit beside her and keep her entertained ,rather than me sitting beside su.We had to stop the car midway and budge in to her sweet request..

Su,un ponnu enne kolrale!!!!! :-)

It seems that the little angel won't hold a boy's hand ,so brother had to plead a liitle to hold hands!!!
But that was compensated by a kiss she gave him before we started off.. :-)

Su had prepared tasty and excellent food.we were asked to stay back for dinner too and was dropped at home by su's husband.

Little Teja wouldn't say bye!!!

She by then had become so much attached to my brother that she didn't want us to leave!!!

It was a pleasure meeting su and enjoying her hospitality!!!

Love u teja!!!!
